Scott Faerber, 62, a lifelong resident of River Forest and well known to many in the Forest Park area, lost his battle with cancer on Jan. 24, 2013. Born on June 4, 1950, he attended Washington Elementary School in River Forest and Oak Park and River Forest High School. Working in the lawn care industry for over 20 years, he was an avid gardener. He loved camping and hiking and traveled to many of the National Parks across the United States during his lifetime.

Scott Faerber is survived by his brother, Bob (Alice); his sister, Sharon; and his two nieces, Donna and Karen. One of his wishes was to have his ashes scattered in Great Smoky Mountains National Park, which was one of his favorite vacation spots.

Memorials in his memory to smokiesinformation.org, are appreciated.

A memorial service is planned and will be announced at a later date. Contact Zimmerman-Harnett Funeral Home, www.ZimmermanHarnett.com.
