I was just reading the Obituary looking for my brother, George T. Moore's and decided to look at the others. I am sorry to hear that Mr. Kuba died. Mr. Kuba did several jewelry items, including watches for Western Electric and my father, Daniel A. Moore, Sr. always said Mr. Kuba was a trustworthy man and us Moore's ALWAYS went to Mr. Kuba for whatever jewelry was needed. Mr. Kuba was a kind man and I am sure the Oak Park community will miss him more than they realize!

I am sad to read this. Mr. Kuba was a gracious gentleman and practiced an old-fashioned, personalized, honest and conscientious customer service. He was a good advisor to his shoppers and inspired confidence with his broad knowledge and experience in the jewelry business. My sympathy to the Kuba family and employees. I hope the shop stays open with the customary level of quality. It is so nice to have a store like that in the community. Mr. Kuba will be missed.

He cleaned my grandfather's watch a decade ago, and took the time to look it up in the watchmaker's record book to see when it was made. What a great "extra" from someone who just gave a little more. The passing of people like this is our loss.

I have been a customer for more than 25 years. I always enjoyed talking with Jim and enjoyed his vast knowledge spanning many subjects. I will miss him and also miss this wonderful jewelry store.
