David R. Boyle, 62, died at home on Feb. 2, 2011. A former Oak Park resident and graduate of Fenwick High School, he became a community activist, attorney, U.S. Marine who served in Vietnam, real estate broker, and contractor.

Mr. Boyle is survived by his best friend, Nadine Boyle; his siblings, Denise Boyle and Cecilia (Frank) Sullivan; his in-laws, Sonia and Peter Harris; his sister-in-law, Marilyn Boyle; his nieces and nephews, Bonnie, Matthew and Colleen Sullivan, and Philip, Timothy, and Robert Boyle; his cousin and godchild, Mary Schumacher, numerous McDonald cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents, Philip and Marie (McDonald) Boyle; and his brother, Brian.

A celebration of David’s life will be held at VFW Hall, 1529 S. Harlem, Berwyn on Feb. 19 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., lower level.
