Eleven OPRF wrestlers punched their tickets to compete in the Class 3A Individual State championship at the University of Illinois's Assembly Hall this weekend.

The group, consisting of four title champs, advanced out of the Maine East Sectional in Park Ridge on Saturday. Of the 11 qualifiers, five are freshman and two are sophomores.

Freshman Robert Campos (36-8) won the 106-pound weight division by forcing a fall at 3:28 on Glenbard East's Carolos Fuentez. Sophomore Larry Early (42-0) remained undefeated at 132 pounds with a 4-3 decision over St. Charles East's Isaiah Vela.

OPRF's other unbeaten grapplers also stayed perfect with title victories. Junior Davonte Mahomes (40-0) took first at 160 pounds, while senior Joe Ariola (42-0) won the 182-pound weight class.

Second place finishers for the Huskies included Gabriel Townsell (113), Matt Rundell (120), Isaiah White (126), John Gahagan (145), Kamaal Bey (152), Allen Stallings (170), and Andre Lee (195).

Jake O'Mara will serve as the alternate at state for the 138-pound weight class. The senior, who holds a record of 29-7 this season, finished fifth at Maine East.
