Oak Park Police Chief Rick Tanksley brought formal charges against another Oak Park police officer on Tuesday. Patrolman Mani Adams will appear before the Oak Park Fire and Police Board Monday, Dec. 12, in the village council chambers for a determination of probable cause on those charges. If those charges, which have not yet been released, are determined to be founded by the police board, it will then hear a motion from Tanksley to suspend Adams without pay pending the outcome of a disciplinary hearing.
Tanksley would only say Tuesday that an investigation had been ongoing for some time. He and Frank Spataro, the village's human resource director, declined to discuss any details of the case until after the police board has ruled on the statement of charges against the officer.
