Now that Oak Park has a $30 million public works palace, perhaps it would be a good time for your newspaper to take a look at how well they do their job. A good place to start would be our streets. Winter is here and it doesn’t look like any patching will take place in time to prevent the inevitable freeze/thaw cycle that will turn the unpatched cracks into potholes. Maybe the money blown on the building could have been spent on actually doing something.
