What a phenomenal response to an amazing need! The Holiday Food and Gift Basket's Adopt-a-Family program matched 780 families in need with more than 300 willing givers this December. We like to say that we had everyone from A to Z?#34;Alberto-Culver Corporation through the Zonta Club of Oak Park?#34;and many, many individuals, businesses, congregations, schools, governmental groups, and other organizations in between!

We had wonderful publicity all throughout the season from our two community newspapers, WEDNESDAY JOURNAL and the Oak Leaves/Forest Leaves, and this helped us tremendously. We could never have done it without the financial support of Youth Services of Oak Park and River Forest Townships, the guidance of the Community of Congregations, and the delivery site provided by United Lutheran Church. River Forest Township Supervisor, Veronica Krawczyk, provides us with office space each year, and Dick Chappell, Ron Humphrey, Jessica Conrad, Shaun Wright, and Jane Brennan of the River Forest Community Center staff go out of their way to make our task enjoyable. Our volunteers?#34;Marcia Alpert, Roy Picone, Lois Carlson, Millie Erhardt, and Tom and Vema Sadjak?#34;matched, stuffed, stamped and mailed literally thousands of letters. Sgt. Jacques Conway and the Oak Park Explorers and countless other volunteers helped to organize and deliver the gifts throughout our two villages just before the holidays. We know that we are leaving out literally hundreds of others who truly deserve to be mentioned by name, so to ALL of those who helped, we'd like to say THANK YOU! We love living among such wonderful Oak Park and River Forest neighbors whose generosity knows no bounds! We'll count on you again next Fall!
