Jeremiah "Jerry" Rice, 82, of Oak Park, died on Dec. 2, 2012. Born on May 28, 1930, he was a longtime coach with Oak Park Youth Baseball and a parishioner and usher at St. Catherine-St. Lucy Church.

Jerry Rice was the brother of Joan (the late Thomas) Dunn, William (Mary) Rice, the late Marie O'Brien, Alice Wiedl, Jack and Thomas Rice; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Jeremiah and Marie Rice.

Visitation was held on Dec. 3, at Peterson-Bassi Chapel. A funeral Mass was celebrated on Dec. 5 at St. Catherine-St. Lucy Church in Oak Park, followed by interment at Queen of Heaven Cemetery.

Arrangements were handled by Gamboney & Son Directors, 6938 W. North Ave. in Chicago.

Jerry was a classic Oak Parker and will be missed. He had such a positive affect on more young baseball players than he could ever know. RIP.
