Cards and letters for our servicemen

To residents of Oak Park:

The holidays are coming fast, and it's never too early to think of sharing these special days with servicemen who are far from home, relatives, friends.

Please consider sending Hanukkah, Christmas, and Kwanzaa cards or letters: No postage is needed. Just drop them off at the Oak Park police station or one of Oak Park's fire stations from now until December 2007.

Please indicate if it is for Navy, Army, Marines, Air Force or Coast Guard on the outside of the envelope. I know it would mean a lot to them.

If you want the serviceman to write you back, then include your name and address. You can enclose a pre-addressed envelope with attached stamp and blank stationery for them to write to you, but you do not need to.

Please pass this information on to your church, parish, synagogue, where you work. This is a great project for teachers to have their school class do.
