A 15-year-old Oak Park juvenile was arrested at Oak Park and River Forest High School by Oak Park police Nov. 4 after allegedly striking another male student, age 15, with an open hand on the ear during a morning hallway passing period.

"[The offender] said it was play fighting, but the victim said that was not the case," said Oak Park Police Commander LaDon Reynolds.

"We have a partnership with the school resource officers," Reynolds added. "They made an evaluation and determined this incident was a police matter."

The juvenile was brought to the Oak Park police department for a formal conversation and was turned over to his parents, Reynolds said.
