Rob Breymaier, executive director of the Oak Park Regional Housing Center.

The Oak Park Regional Housing Center’s monthly forum on race relations is still in its infancy, but Executive Director Rob Breymaier says the group aims to begin working on an eventual action plan for race-related issues.

The group will hold its second meeting Wednesday, Nov. 5 at 7 p.m. at the Oak Park Regional Housing Center at 1041 South Boulevard. The meeting will focus on how to better promote inter-racial connections and understanding between Oak Parkers, Breymaier said.

He said the group wants to hear residents’ concerns about what the group can pursue in terms of connecting people of different races.

“As we go down the road, I think we’re hoping to move from conversational type meetings to more issue-oriented meetings and eventually action-oriented meetings,” Breymaier said.
