The OPRF youth football Lightweights of the Pac 10 won the Tri-City Youth Football League Super Bowl with a 20-8 victory over Warren.

Oak Park marched 65 yards and scored first on a 3-yard run by Brewster Hague to take an early 6-0 lead.

In the third quarter, Warren got on the board with a 45-yard TD run. Warren then kicked the extra point to take an 8-6 lead.

A defensive battle ensued with the OPRF defense, led by Patrick Alcock, Chris Fitch, Nolan Hopkinson, Jeremy Donaldson and Brad Oxnevad, delivering big hits on the Warren running backs.

The score remained unchanged until Huskies quarterback Elliott Kunkel completed two passes to Hague midway through the fourth quarter. Halfback Greg Landfair then ran for 9-yard TD. Oak Park kicked the extra point and took a 14-8 lead.

OPRF stopped Warren's next drive and took possession at its opponent's 44-yard line. Behind the blocking of Mike Trucco, Ben Carbery, Nick Kowalczuk and Jesse Schapiro, the offense marched down to the 16. Greg Landfair took it in again for the final score. OPRF forced a Warren turnover on the last possession to clinch the victory.

The Pac 10 Lightweights (7th and 8th graders) went undefeated this season and give Oak Park its first TCYFL championship since entering the league in 2003.
