Iris M. Lozeau, 86, of Oak Park died on Nov. 25, 2012 at the University of Illinois Medical Center in Chicago. She worked for 34 years at the Oak Park Township office before her retirement in 2006. A dear old Oak Parker, she was also the volunteer coordinator of Day in Our Village and active in the Amvets Auxiliary and Zonta International. Her favorite flower was, of course, the iris.

Mrs. Lozeau was the wife of the late William "Shady Bill" Lozeau; the mother of Diane Andres and Cheri (fiancé David Johnson) Figgins; the step-mother of Robert (Sue) and William (the late Pam) Lozeau and the late Carol (the late Wes) Capps; the grandmother of Ryan, Morgan and Bailey Figgins, Joel (Diane) and Michael Taylor and Julie Capps, and Suzanne Lozeau; great-grandmother of Lily Smith, and Ben and Karen Taylor; sister of the late Richard (the late Beverly) Privoznik; and the aunt, cousin and friend of many.

Visitation will take place on Friday, Nov. 30 from 4 to 8 p.m. at Drechsler, Brown & Williams Funeral Home, 203 S. Marion St., Oak Park, where services will be held on Saturday at 10:30 a.m. Interment is private.

Iris was such a warm and wonderful woman and also the kind of ideal dedicated public servant we always hope to have in Oak Park in her days serving in the Oak Park Township. She was a great lady.

Long may she reign the Queen of Day in our Village.... likely the only (or probably one of the few) who participated in every DAY, all 39. She was warm, funny, SASSY, and most of all, genuine and caring. She will be missed!!! Thanks for everything, I!
