I picked up the paper, and my jaw dropped in straight-up stupefaction. Mia Tellez, who serves on the Oak Park Library Board, voted against increasing the library's share of property taxes.

An Oak Park politician actually voted against a property tax increase. That seems more amazing than the White Sox winning the World Series.

Perhaps one day an Oak Park politician will vote to reduce spending. When that day happens, Jesus Christ will return wearing a dress, and George W. Bush will go on television and say, "You know that war thing we got goin' in Iraq? Well, maybe we shouldn'ta gone over there."
