The commercial development climate is finally improving. River Forest has a new village president. Now there is a newly formed citizen commission charged with sparking private development in town. And last week the village board granted its preferred developer for the site at Lake and Lathrop a one-year extension and a claim to TIF funds if he can make a development happen on this key parcel.
Everything is aligned for Keystone Ventures and its River Forest principal, Tim Hague, to make this happen in 2014. It is time to add a sense of urgency to this lingering project.
