A few dozen people gathered to honor veterans at the Veteran's Day Program near the Peace Triumphant monument in Scoville Park Monday in spite of the rain.

State Sen. Don Harmon (78th), Former Oak Park Village Clerk Virginia Cassin, Reverend Donald Register and Reverend Stanley Davis were among the speakers at the event.

The ceremony concluded with the crowd singing 'God Bless America' led by John and Kathryn Atwood. Refreshments were offered after the event at the Ernest Hemingway Museum.
