Recommendations on how to proceed with installing lights in OPRF's football stadium will be made to the District 200 school board at its next finance meeting on Nov. 8. The board would also hear an update concerning the South Field.
Jack Lanenga, assistant superintendent for operations, said after last Thursday's board meeting that he should have recommendations ready to present the board. Lights were installed on OPRF's southern practice field in 2002. Neighbors opposed to lighting the stadium have raised questions concerning light direction into their homes. The OPRF Booster Club is among those in favor of lighting the stadium.
"The Booster Club is still 100 percent behind it and are committed to raise the necessary funds to install the lights," Fred Valentine, a club member told the board.
The Booster Club gave a presentation to the finance committee in support of lighting the stadium in June.
