Last Saturday, over 150 zombies and costumed creatures participated in the Zombie Walk and Pub Crawl on Roosevelt Road, Oak Park's southern border.
The walk and pub crawl started at 12th Street Rag, continued on to Friendly Tap and ended with an after-party at FitzGerald's. In addition to any type of zombie imaginable, there where also appearances by a Svengoolie look-alike, werewolf, Captain and Tennille, Spy vs. Spy and even a rival Cubs fan and Sox fan zombie couple.
Paul Zimmermann, president of the Berwyn Development Corporation, spoke at the after-party and thanked all of the participants for what he called "a successful turnout". Zimmerman hopes the Zombie Walk and Pub Crawl becomes an annual Halloween event on Roosevelt Road.
