Man beaten, robbed Friday night

A man walking northbound in the 800 block of North Austin Boulevard, the night of Oct. 5, was approached by an unknown teenager who punched him in the face. Three other teenagers surrounded him, pushed him to the ground and started punching him in the head and body. The offenders removed the man's Thunderbolt cellphone and $10 in cash before they were last seen fleeing eastbound on foot. Estimated loss is $210.

Criminal damage to property

Someone used a BB-type projectile to break the front and rear driver's side windows on two vehicles in the 1100 block of South Humphrey Avenue, the night of Oct. 1. Estimated loss for one vehicle is $300.

A 42-year-old Chicago man was arrested, the night of Oct. 1, near Pleasant Home in the 200 block of Home Avenue and charged with criminal damage to government-supported property and criminal trespass to real property. The man was held for bond hearings.

An unknown person damaged a vehicle parked in the rear lot of the 1000 block of Randolph Street, overnight Sept. 27, by using a sharp object to scratch the front doors. Estimated damage is $800.

A thermal pane window was damaged by possible use of a BB-type projectile in the 6800 block of Roosevelt Road between the evening of Sept. 27 and morning of Oct. 2. Estimated damage is $3,000.

A resident of the 1500 block of Monroe Avenue in River Forest, told police, the morning of Oct. 5, that someone flattened the tires of her 1995 BMW while it was parked in the lot of a residential building. Estimated loss is $300. Later that morning, another resident said someone had punctured a tire on a car in the same lot.

Burglary

A grey Trek men's bicycle was removed from a garage in the 1100 block of Highland Avenue between the morning and evening of Oct. 1. Estimated loss is $585.

Someone removed a Dell Inspiron laptop computer, an LG laptop computer, a necklace and $25 in coins from a residence in the 400 block of Forest Avenue between the morning and evening of Oct. 2. Estimated loss is $1,425.

A gym bag containing workout clothing was removed from an unlocked vehicle in the 300 block of South Harvey Avenue, overnight Oct. 3. Estimated loss is $75.

An unknown person removed 13 CDs and Rayban sunglasses after cutting a convertible top and unlocking a vehicle in the first block of Iowa Street, overnight Oct. 3. Estimated loss is $1,305.

An Asus tablet laptop computer, and I-Pass, purse, $80 in cash and two credit cards were removed from a vehicle in the 1100 block of South Harvey Avenue, the morning of Oct. 4. Estimated loss is $600.

Someone entered a residence in the 900 block of North Taylor Avenue between the afternoons of Sept. 27 and Oct. 5 by prying open a rear basement door and removed copper piping, a faucet and pipe and damaged the carpet. Estimated loss is $880.

Someone entered a locked storage area in the 200 block of North Oak Park Avenue between Sept. 26 and Oct. 5 and removed a red and grey Fisher Tassajara bicycle and a black Schwinn bicycle. Estimated loss is $850.

Theft

An unknown person removed an Apple iPhone with a pink case from a maternity room at West Suburban Hospital in the first block of Erie Court, the early morning of Oct. 3. Estimated loss is $230.

Someone removed a locked green Giant men's bike from underneath a rear stairwell in the 200 block of North Grove Street, overnight Oct. 2. Estimated loss is $900.

A secured bicycle was removed from the 400 block of North Austin Boulevard between the morning and afternoon of Oct. 4. Estimated loss is $120.

A 4-foot iron bench was removed from in front of Anthony Lullo's Hair Design in the 700 block of South Boulevard between the evening of Sept. 29 and morning of Oct. 2. Estimated loss is $75.

Someone removed three motion detectors from inside a residence in the 600 block of Linden Avenue between the early morning and night of Sept. 29. Estimated loss is $750.

A silver 2005 Mazda was removed from the 1100 block of Clinton Avenue, overnight Oct. 6. Estimated loss is $15,000.

An unknown person removed an Apple iPhone from a residence in the 1100 block of North Humphrey Avenue, the afternoon of Oct. 7. Estimated loss is $600.

A yellow bicycle was removed from the bike rack at River Forest Town Center in the 7300 block of Lake Street between the afternoon and night of Oct. 2 Surveillance showed a man ride to the location on a green bike and ride away on a yellow bike matching the description. Estimated loss is $140.

Sexual assault

Staff at Mercy Hospital in Chicago notified River Forest Police, the night of Oct. 7, that they were treating a victim who reported she had been sexually assaulted by an acquaintance in River Forest. The case remains under active investigation and no further information was released.

These items, obtained from the Oak Park and River Forest police departments, came from reports filed Oct. 2-8 and represent a portion of the incidents to which police responded. Anyone named in these reports has only been charged with a crime and cases have not yet been adjudicated.
