An outage at around 3:45 p.m., today has knocked out power for 1,511 Oak Parkers around town. But when the juice might come back is still up in the air.

The cause of the outage was unknown as of 4:00 p..m., according to ComEd spokesman Tony Hernandez. The area affected is bordered by South Boulevard, Harrison, Wesley and Maple. He said crews were currently on the scene, working to remedy the problem, but he could not say when the work would be finished.

Claims may be filed with Com Ed for lost food etc. Their website has the information, I believe at http://www.coned.com/customercentral/lawclaims.asp.

This has been a horrific year for power outages. What exactly is being done about it? Our family has lost food and insulin. A claim was filed after the August outage, but we have yet to hear about it!Only a letter that they are checking it out. That medication is $100 a bottle.
