The Senior Citizens' Center of Oak Park-River Forest hosted its 2nd Annual Ulyssean Award Dinner, "Celebrate the Journey," at the Carleton Hotel on Sept. 9. Ulyssean Awards are presented to community members who honor the philosophy of continuing to grow, create and develop throughout the aging process. The 2005 recipients are Rev. F. Dean Lueking, retired pastor of Grace Lutheran Church in River Forest, and Virginia Cassin, Oak Park village clerk of 20 years and longtime volunteer with a number of local organizations. The 2004 recipients, Redd Griffin and Sherlynn Reid, were in attendance, as were many members of the Senior Citizens' Center including Patricia Koko, executive director, and Harold Rohlfing, president of the board. Former state Sen. Phil Rock was the master of ceremonies.
