The Dominican University women's soccer team advanced to the Northern Athletics Conference (NAC) semifinal round with a thrilling 1-0 victory over visiting Lakeland College on Saturday afternoon.
The two teams played to a scoreless time into the 90th minute before freshman Kelly Adler received a cross from sophomore Mayra Camacho and beat the Muskies' goalkeeper for the game-winning goal with just 24 seconds remaining in regulation.
Freshman goalkeeper Jacqui Lani picked up her 10th shutout of the season, recording three saves in the process.
The Stars traveled to top-seeded Aurora University for a semifinal match with the Spartans on yesterday (after deadline).

After enjoying a first-round bye as the top seed in the NAC tournament this weekend, the Stars are now set to host Edgewood College, the tournament's four seed in a semifinal game today at 1:30 p.m. at Dominican University's West Campus Field.
In their regular season match up, the Stars handed Edgewood a 3-1 loss thanks to a pair of goals in the final 10 minutes of regulation. The Stars outshot the Eagles 14-7 and held a 9-2 advantage in corner kicks.
The winner of the Dominican-Edgewood match will advance to the NAC championship on Saturday.
