Sports roundup for OPRF and Fenwick

OPRF volleyball
The Huskies begin the Class 3A playoffs against Hyde Park on Thursday at Whitney Young. The team is the fifth-seed in the Lyons Sectional.
The Whitney Young Regional Championship is scheduled for Saturday at 1 p.m.

OPRF will compete in the West Suburban (Silver) Conference Meet to be held at York this weekend.
The Huskies, who lost to Downers Grove North on Thursday 111-74, are shooting for a top three finish.
"We will put together our best line up," said head coach Clyde Lundgren, whose young team has been without a home pool all season. "I would love for us to be in the hunt for third."
Fenwick volleyball
The Friars are the No. 3 seed in the Lyons Sectional and begin the De La Salle Regional against either DuSable or Dunbar on Thursday.
Fenwick fell to Marian Catholic last week 21-25, 25-18, 17-25. Sarah Hunt posted 11 kills, while Kelly Brennan had 10.
Fenwick soccer
The 2010 season came to an end for the Friars with a 5-4 loss in penalty kicks to ninth-seeded Hinsdale South in the semifinals of the Class 3A Hinsdale South Regional last week.
The game went into four overtime periods.
The Friars, who return six starters next season, finished 3-3 in the Chicago Catholic League and 11-9-1 overall on the season.
Fenwick swimming
The Friars host the Metro Catholic Aquatics Conference Meet this Friday and Saturday and it's going to look similar to the State Meet.
With three of the teams in the conference — Fenwick, Rosary and Loyola — ranked in the top six in the state, the conference meet is a precursor to what's to come.
"We have a very young team and they will really benefit from the pressure of this meet," said Fenwick head coach Renee Miller. "Since we are hosting the meet, it will have a loud and crowded feeling like the state meet."
Diving is to begin at 6 p.m. on Friday and swimming at 10 a.m. on Saturday.
