An Oak Park man was denied bond Saturday and charged with murder after the man he allegedly shot in June in an Austin park died Oct. 16.

Craig Bryan, 23, of the 400 block of Washington Boulevard was charged with shooting Keith Sutton, 24, June 2 in Galewood Park in the 5700 block of West Bloomingdale Avenue. Bryan reportedly followed Sutton through the park around 10 a.m. and shot him in the head and back.

Bryan was arrested in August and charged with attempted murder and aggravated battery with a firearm on Aug. 22, said Steve Campbell of the Illinois State's Attorney's Office.

Those charges were upgraded to murder after Sutton died at Westlake Community Hospital hospice.

Bryan is currently being held in Cook County Jail. He will have a preliminary hearing on Nov. 8, Campbell said.
