Bureaucracy at its finest
Opinion: Letters To The Editor
Thanks for posting my letter to the editor [Parking ticket farce and fiasco, Viewpoints, Oct. 16]. Below is for your enjoyment. To be filed under: "We know there's no reasonable way for you to know, but really, we need the $30 bad enough that we'll hold you accountable anyway."
Mrs. Leonard:
I reviewed the citation contest that you submitted and confirmed that the parking pass you displayed did not contain the application instructions on the back. As a result, I then spoke with Parking Services and learned there had been a printing error and the application instructions were not included on some passes. However, when the passes are purchased, the purchaser is made aware of the application instructions and given a sheet with the instructions.
Unfortunately, the officer was correct in issuing the citation. Again, I apologize for any difficulties that you have encountered with this matter.
