Tim Hunnewell of Oak Park got his beard dyed pink Saturday as part of his commitment to raise money for breast cancer research through Bright Pink, a Chicago charity. Hunnewell sported the beard while running the Chicago Marathon Sunday.
Hunnewell said he and his wife Laura picked the cause because his sister-in-law is a "high risk individual" for developing breast cancer. The marathon comes as the conclusion to the couple's fundraising efforts, as they held an event at the Lake Street Kitchen in Oak Park that raised $3,000 two weeks before the marathon.
