Timothy J. Gockel, 50, of Orland Park, formerly of Oak Park, died on Dec. 19, 2013. Born on Sept. 23, 1962, he attended Hawthorne Elementary School and Oak Park and River Forest High School. A resident on Home Avenue in Oak Park, his family moved to Orland Park upon the birth of twin boys in 2005.
He was a long-term employee of Lind-Waldock, a commodity futures firm in Chicago's Loop, which later became a division of New York-based MF Global, which filed for bankruptcy in November 2011.
Tim Gockel is survived by his wife, Kimberly Fulton; his children, Monica, Timothy, Ethan, and Jackson; his parents, Marge and Galen Gockel; and his siblings, Rebecca Kutak and Andrew Gockel.
