Thank you to everyone who made the Health Expo such a great success.
The Expo was made possible by a grant from the Midwest Dairy Council and the USDA. Hatch second graders have spent six weeks learning about their bones and teeth and the importance of three-a-day dairy. The focus has been on adding more yogurt to their menus. They have also traveled the continents for ten weeks tasting fruit and vegetable dishes from around the world.
This could not have happened without:
Erin Leraris, grant writer; Brian Dupont, art teacher at Hatch and Lincoln; Mona Mjolsnes, music teacher at Hatch and Beye; Jackie Nussbaum, second grade teacher; Marie Stack, second grade teacher; Marueen Powers, school nurse at Hatch and Lincoln, Jeanette Sorrentino, DDS; Michael Jones, dancer, choreographer, entertainer, host; Afton Surwillo, Farm to School Coordinator of Seven Generations Ahead; Farmer Vicki Westerhoff, of Genesis Growers; Gina Orlando, certified hypnotherapist; Laura Gibbs, certified massage therapist; The generous donations of Whole Foods Market; The support of Sheila Carter, Hatch principal; The support of the Hatch faculty; The dedicated room parents of Hatch School: Louis Charmichael, Judith Hawkins-Smart, Evelyn Segal, Cassandra Hutchenson, Janice Pack, Wendy Cerny, Sharon Canthicer, Kimm Polditch and Carrie Tran.
