The Concordia women's basketball team lost its only action of last week, a 65-54 loss to visiting Manchester College from Indiana. The Cougars ended the 2004 portion of their schedule with a 3-8 record.

Manchester scored the final eight points of the first half to take a 35-28 lead. That lead would go as high as 12 points early in the second half before Atoi Sinclair brought the Cougars back within three at 44-41. However, the Spartans hit four 3-pointers over the next three minutes, three by Karlene Clapp (18 points) to open up a double-digit lead again.

Sinclair finished the game with 21 points and seven rebounds after being held to six points and two boards in the first half. Lindsey Seggebruch added nine points and six rebounds for the Cougars.

Concordia will begin conference play this week with a Tuesday, Jan. 4 home game versus Dominican University (7 p.m.) and a Saturday road game at Eureka College.
