Dining and dancing for Fenwick

Nearly 600 alumni, parents and friends of Fenwick High School attended the school's Blackfriars Dinner Dance last November at Navy Pier in Chicago. The annual event, now in its 53rd year, raises scholarship funds to support financial aid for Fenwick students. The theme for the dinner dance was "Our Promise, Their Future."

Levitt lights up LaSalle Bank event at OP Country Club

Steven D. Levitt, author of the bestselling book, Freakonomics, met with a group of 40 financial advisors, attorneys, CPAs and other invited guests at a breakfast convened by the Oak Park-River Forest Community Foundation on Dec. 2, 2005 at the Oak Park Country Club. The breakfast was sponsored by LaSalle Bank Wealth Management Group. Levitt shared research on philanthropy and patterns of banking topics, as well as a variety of other topics, and engaged in a lively discussion with the audience.

Winter at the zoo
Dan Winter of Oak Park has been named director of major and planned gifts at Brookfield Zoo. He was previously employed as director of planned giving at Lincoln Park Zoo, and before that by the American Red Cross of Greater Chicago and the American Lung Association. A member of the board of directors for the Chicago Council on Planned Giving and program chair for the council's 2006 symposium, Winter received his J.D. degree from Boston University School of Law and his bachelor's degree in international relations from the University of
Delaware.

From Back of the Yards
to top of his class
Oak Park resident Robert F. (Josh) Rundle, Jr., principal of San Miguel Schools, Back of the Yards Campus in Chicago, was honored by Lewis University at its annual Alumni Awards Ceremony on Nov. 20, 2005. Rundle, Class of 2001, was honored for his outstanding professional, personal and civic accomplishments.

A net gain for Wisuri
River Forest resident Danielle Wisuri, a freshman at Colorado College in Colorado Springs, was a starter on the varsity women's volleyball team that participated in the NCAA Division III tournament in Spokane, Wash. The team, which lost to the West Region host team, finished the year at 21-9, and placed first in two tournaments during the season. Wisuri is a 2005 graduate of Oak Park and River Forest High School, where she also played volleyball.
