Trinity downed New Trier 48-33 in the first round of the Sweet 16 Tournament on Saturday. The Blazers took a 28-14 lead by halftime and swelled the advantage to 44-16 by the third quarter.
Trinity was led by Lauren Prochaska's double-double of 14 points and 11 rebounds. She also had seven assists. Taylor Nazon added 14 points in the win.
On Monday night, the Blazers blew past Marist 60-46 at the McDonald's Shootout. Nazon scored 17 points, while holding Marist leading scorer Jetaun Rouse to 4-of-27 shooting from the field.
In the second round of the Sweet 16 Tournament on Saturday, the Blazers (17-3) will take on Maine South at Lake Zurich (7 p.m.).
