OPRF wins own wrestling invite

The OPRF wrestling team geared up for its showdowns against highly-ranked Montini and Marmion this week by winning its own invite outright on Saturday.
The Huskies cruised to victory by garnering 310.5 points over a field that included three teams from out of state. The closest anyone came to OPRF was Buchanan High School of Clovis, Calif. Buchanan finished with 261 points.
OPRF's Gabe Townsell (113-pound weight class), Darius Henry (120), Isaiah White (126), Larry Early (132), Jake O'Mara (138), Kamal Bey (152), Davonte Mahomes (160), Malik Stallings (170), and Joey Ariola (182) all won their divisions. Roberto Campos finished second at 106 pounds.
The Huskies, who recently completed their second straight undefeated conference season, take on top-ranked Montini on Jan. 23 before traveling to fourth-ranked Marmion on Jan. 24.

OPRF over # 1Montini and #4Marmion in the same week. This after taking last years State champs Sanburg earlier in the season. This OPRF team is the real deal. Make time, and get out to a meet at the high school -- you will not be disappointed.
