The political organization will vote on a “restated mission” that would “expand our role and commit the VMA to remain active between elections,” according to a letter by Gene Armstrong, VMA president. The letter encourages members and friends to attend the meeting, renew memberships, and make additional financial contributions.
The restated mission is the report of one of several committees the VMA formed after a series of meetings last spring and summer to “discuss the future” of the group, the letter states. The VMA’s executive committee has reviewed the report and is recommending its approval.
Armstrong did not return phone calls seeking comment.
The VMA, after slating every village president and all but five trustees for more than 50 years, lost the presidency and all three races for trustee in April.
