A few things to get off my plate

I have a beef and it's not a Connie's Beef.
I was born and raised in the village of Oak Park. I currently work in the village of Oak Park. I have a few questions for the village of Oak Park.
Why did you spend a ton of money looking for a village manager when you seemed to know who it was going to be all along? Why does Oak Park spend taxpayers' money so frivolously?
And my big question: Why in the heck aren't the taxpayers in Oak Park going ballistic about how the village spends their money?
My final question: Why does the village no longer hire from within? Years ago (many years ago) if you worked in Oak Park, you had a chance for advancement. That saves money.
Don't get me wrong, I love this community. My favorite memories are of leaves burning in the fall and sitting in the bleachers at OPRF football games. The people who live here are caring, genuine and smart. I no longer reside here, but my blood boils when I read some of the cockamamie ideas coming out of this town. Government supports and defends its people — it's not for itself.
Thanks for listening. It's been a slice.

Dear Kate, you are showing your age, young. You obviously are not old enough to remember how everyone burned their leaves. It was a fall tradition, if you raked em you burned em. I imagine if you were a young OP girl you might have gone to Connie's Beeef if you lived near there. Years ago it was located at Narragansitt and North. You are just to young. So I think that makes your comments to Rosemary null..

Secondly, any long-time (or even short-time) resident knows that the best Italian beef is found at Johnnie's in Elmwood Park, and not Connie's. Based on the weakness of the two pilliars on which this article relies I declare the overall argument weak and the viewpoint null.

I feel like the rhetoric of this article relies heavily on authenticating the argument with frequent references to the peculiarities of Oak Park. However, I take issue with two of these references. Primarily, the problem is that it is illegal to burn leaves in Oak Park/River Forest. Either this writer is not a resident, or this writer has been continually breaking our local ordinances.
