Sports camp gives back

Tuesday, August 9th, 2011 10:00 PM

Oak Park based Legacy Sports Camp started working in early July to start a food drive for the Oak Park River Forest Food Pantry. After holding the initial drive at Ascension Catholic School and collecting over 200 items, Legacy decided to host food drives at all its programs.

On July 15, they held an additional food drive in both morning sessions of its Saturday morning Instructional T-Ball camp with the Park District of Oak Park.

"The food drives fit Legacy's philosophy of 'positive character building' included in each camp," explains the press release. "Our primary goal is to educate our participants on proper technique in individual and team settings," continues Legacy co-founder Dan Kan, director of camp operations.
