"We chose Ascension School because we were looking for an excellent academic experience and a strong partner in forming our children, spiritually and morally. We wanted an environment in which they would feel cared for and nurtured and where they would learn the value of serving others. We wanted an outstanding arts education, an array of extracurricular activities and opportunities to participate in interscholastic athletics. We knew that they would be well-prepared for high school and have the foundation that leads to life-long education. We have not been disappointed!"

Ascension School in Oak Park offers faith-based education for students from three-years-old through eighth grade. Ascension students consistently score above national norms on standardized tests and fair well academically in high school. Ascension has two classrooms at every grade level, including two full-day kindergarten classrooms; an outstanding Extended Day program and full time instructors in physical education, Spanish, computer, art and music. Ascension has three student orchestras, a band program, two choirs, Art Club, Newspaper Club, Drama Club, a Green Club, student government and service groups, and teams at four grade levels that compete in soccer, basketball and volleyball.

Ascension School, founded by the Ursuline Sisters in 1912, is preparing for its Centennial, a landmark for any Catholic elementary school. We're proud of our history! We enjoy the support of committed and generous alumni, a vibrant parish community and a wonderfully involved parent population. Ascension was awarded the Blue Ribbon Award by the Department of Education in 2007.
