Last Monday, October 17, Sugar Beet Schoolhouse Programs, in partnership with Autre Monde, presented the first of what will likely be many "family dinners." Under the auspices of the Autre Monde team, children from Sugar Beet Schoolhouse made and served dinner to guests who packed the dining room and spilled out onto the back patio.
Good guy and co-owner of both Autre Monde Café and Spirits and Horrorbles, John Aranza is no doubt the dark force behind the Zombie Walk that takes place every year along Roosevelt Road. Horrorbles, which used to be located right next door to Autre Monde, has since relocated, and the shop is sponsoring the walk; you can convene at Horrorbles at 4:30PM today, October 26, for make-up and costume staging. If livelier pursuits appeal to you more, on November 14th Autre Monde welcomes Sicilian winemaker Frank Cornelissen.
For a restaurant that had been open only about a year, a fire could have been devastating. Fortunately, the blaze was somewhat contained, and Christine Aranza and her team have found ways to make the best of a burnt situation.
