Aripo's

The Arepa is Venezuela's most popular food and the faithful companion of most of Venezuela's traditional dishes. Known to all Venezuelans as the "every-day-bread", the Arepa is a flat, uneven patty made from a doughy mix of water, cornmeal, and salt. This mix, or "masa", is hand molded to give a round patty-like look. It can be grilled, baked, or fried. Once cooked, the Arepa is split open like a pocket and stuffed with a variety of fillings that are as diverse as the Venezuelan culture. In other words...When it come to filling an Arepa the sky is the limit.

Top notch! Don't think you will get right in and get right out. It's probably about a 10 minute wait, but soooooo worth it. After having an Aripa, I wondered why there are so many burrito joints and not more aripa places? Either way, I'm glad we have this place in our town. Also try the Boliqueso (fried cornmeal balls with queso), they are amazing! The service is very nice and friendly too.
