David, the aforementioned have had years of experience to transition. Maybe Ms. Plomin will improve in the upcoming segments too. I just don't feel that a "foodie" or a previous position with a newspaper necessarily makes you a good reporter on camera. Sorry, but that's my opinion. Not meant to be presumptuous, illogical or unkind.

There is, of course, no generally accepted principle that print reporters should stay in print. You just pulled that out of the air to make your point, Maggie, and it's not hard to find other food writers who started in print and transitioned to video: Frank Bruni, Kevin Pang, Anthony Bourdain, etc. It's a long list. And it seems pointless to tell people that you are A and must remain A, and you are B and must remain B. That kind of thinking is presumptuous, illogical and unkind.

While the food looked good, I think there is a reason print reporters should stay in print and not on camera. A bit forced and sing songy for my liking. But practice does make perfect. I will look forward to the next installment.
