During prime dining al fresco season, Marion St. is boarded over

I’m sure there’s a solid reason for closing off Marion St. alfresco dining, but it seems like a shame to put pretty much the entire shopping/dining area under barricade for the next few months.

Walking along that most casual retail area of our village last Friday night, I was saddened that places like Marion Street Cheese Market will lose their seating until perhaps after Thanksgiving.

This is a real problem for established places as well as many of the new spaces (Element, etc.) that will be denied this extra dining space for many months to come.

It’s understandable that to improve the streets and sidewalks, some business interruptions are inevitable. But last Friday, no construction had begun, and it will be interesting to see how long this construction actually takes.

Poor Phil's still has it's outdoor cafe, at least until they tear up the sidewalks which won't be for awhile yet.
