More expensive, but worth it

On March 10th, from noon until 3PM, the Wettstein family will bring beef, pork, and lamb to the Buzz Café.

We all should probably eat less meat. Still, if you’re a committed ominvore (like me), you might consider spending a little more to get the caliber of meat offered by Wettstein’s.

Organic meat from Wettstein’s is going to be more expensive, but it’s worth it, not only because the taste is so much better but because it may be better for your health.

Though there’s never been conclusive evidence that cattle who’ve been fed organic meal yield meat that’s “better for you” nutritionally, it seems fair to assume that we should probably avoid meat from animals that have been treated with prophylactic antibiotics and growth hormones.

In addition, much of the meat we eat is so cheap, we end up eating too much of it. Maybe if meat – like gasoline – cost a little more, we’d respect it more and use it more economically.

So my choice is to eat less, eat better, and buy from people like Wettstein’s whenever I have the chance.
