Christiane Pereira Could Be Next Host of Check, Please!

We featured Christian Pereira, co-owner and chef at Taste of Brasil Cafe, in our most recent You Really Should Eat This video.
Based on a video and written responses she submitted to David Manilow, producer of the very popular Check, Please! television show, Pereira was selected to be on the short list of potential new hosts. The previous host, Alpana Singh, announced she was leaving earlier this year to devote all her energies to her new restaurant, The Boarding House (720 N. Wells, Chicago).
The host position has been hotly contested. Manilow announced last week that he had received 800 applications for the job.

It is so exciting to have our very own Christiane as a finalist. She is the perfect person for the job. I am a big fan. Anyone who has visited Taste of Brasil knows of her passion for good, quality food and her love of people. Noone leaves a stranger. Good luck, Christiane. We're rooting for you!
