Travel is one of the surest ways to gain a food education.
Next year, I'm partnering with a travel company to accompany a tour to Peru. I've helped develop the itinerary based on my enthusiasm for eating and my interest in indigenous cultures.
The tour centers around Mistura, a large food event in Lima, but we'll also be cooking with local folks in their homes, and, of course, checking out archaeological zones in Cusco, Machu Picchu and at smaller sites throughout our trip.
