Sunday, February 2, at Maze Library in Oak Park, I'll be giving a presentation entitled "Writing about Food, Eating Bugs and Becoming a Better Person."
This presentation will explore some themes I raised late last year at the Midwest Writer's Conference, including:
* How to break into food writing – and remain financially solvent
* Why the best food is frequently the stuff sold in the street
* What's good about eating bugs (hint: it's not usually the flavor)
I'll also be showing some videos, maybe playing some radio pieces, and giving you some backstory on the work I do.
There will be time for questions and answers – and everything will wrap up hours before Super Bowl XLVIII begins (maybe even days before if weather in New Jersey makes impossible to play the game that Sunday).
Hope to see you there.
