In a somewhat significant shift in its current board committee structure, the District 200 Board of Education is looking to ditch its long-hold committee-of-the-whole structure in favor of smaller committee groups.
The first rollout of iPad tablets will begin this fall in grades 3-5. The expansion continues in the 2014-2015 school year at the middle schools. The total cost for the iPads — along with software, accessories and staff development — comes to roughly $2 million.
The District 200 Finance Advisory Committee hosted its second meeting on Aug. 5. The committee was formed by the school board to examine the high school's fund balance and whether it's the proper amount for OPRF, and to make a recommendation to the board last this year as to its best use.
