An Oak Park police officer has sued the village of Oak Park and a female police sergeant in federal court, alleging that the female supervisor shoved and threatened him nine days after he filed a sexual harassment complaint against her with the department.
A man wanted by River Forest police for more than six months for an armed home invasion was captured without incident in a Lombard laundromat on May 7 by a team of officers from River Forest and Forest Park in the West Suburban Enhanced Drug and Gang Enforcement (WEDGE) task force.
Travone T. Norris, 25, of the 100 block of Kenilworth Avenue, was arrested Thursday, May 1, around 7 p.m. after he was identified in both a photo and a live lineup by a 14-year-old Oak Park juvenile who was robbed, the afternoon of April 20, near the Austin Boulevard Blue Line stop.
Cook County Sheriff's officers executed a child protection warrant to recover an 8-month-old baby in Oak Park on April 22. The child's 41-year-old mother had left a Chicago alcohol and drug addiction treatment center without permission on April 9, a sheriff's spokesperson said.
