Tye Johnson's fifth grade class from Beye Elementary School conducted a fundraiser earlier this year that raised more than $1000 in support of the fight against human trafficking. Based on the success of this initiative, the students will be conducting another fundraiser to benefit the same cause. The event, which is titled "Catching Dreams for Canvass," will be held at the Both Sides Art Gallery in Pilsen on Saturday, May 25 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.
Anne Slanina, a doctoral student at The Chicago School of Professional Psychology (TCSPP) and Oak Park native, was inducted into the prestigious Edward A. Bouchet Graduate Honor Society at the 10th Annual Bouchet Conference on Diversity and Graduate Education held recently at Yale University.
