When Oak Park schools are closed for Spring Break the week of March 24, 2014, Oak Park Public Library, 834 Lake Street, has plenty of opportunities for kids of all ages to create, move and play during free programs at three neighborhood library locations.
A total of 2,453 community members and elected officials signed the American Library Association (ALA)'s Declaration for the Right to Libraries at Oak Park Public Library, 834 Lake St., during the month of February – all in support of the essential roles libraries play in our democratic society.
On March 10th, at the River Forest Community Center, 8020 Madison, River Forest Township Assessor Pamela Kende hosted a community outreach that provided help to residents with questions about the reassessment process, including how they may appeal their own assessment. Also on hand were staff from the Cook County Assessor's Office.
A short break from extreme temps gave local residents good reason to get out and shake off some cabin fever while supporting the Oak Park River Forest Food Pantry at a benefit held at FitzGeralds on Saturday, February 22.
