I just finished reading an historical novel Wolf Hall by Hillary Mantel. It told the story of Thomas Cromwell's life journey from a wretched abusive childhood to becoming Henry VIII's right hand man. Cromwell was largely responsible for Henry's divorce and the demise of the Catholic Church in England.
OakPark.com volunteer blogger Joanna Skubish recently blogged about a special fundraiser hosted by the Oak Park Women's Guild. Former Guild Board member Kari Harris, an Oak Park mom of two, was diagnosed with stage 3 breast cancer earlier this year. For only $5, you can see "Bee Movie" on Saturday, Nov. 30 at Lake Theatre. All of the proceeds will go directly to Kari for medical costs and child care.
