In Oak Park and environs, we have access to a number of Mexican restaurants, including the venerable La Majada and the much newer Golden Lamb. In Oak Park and Chicagoland in general, Mexican food dominates Latin American selections, and it’s sometimes easy to forget that there are over 20 countries in Latin America that are not Mexico. In a Melrose Park strip mall, Restaurant y Pupuseria Guanachapin serves foods of Guatemala and El Salvador.
Opening our compost bin, I’m sometimes amazed by the amount of crawling, flying and hopping life in there: worms, flies, and insects of unknown determination have made a home in the mess of stuff we didn’t eat…and they’re turning it into compost that we use in our garden.
Kids, to me, are the most amusing, interesting people, and I’m usually fine with them making all the noise they want. It’s understandable, though, that some diners find children’s behavior offensive – and their doting parents irresponsible. Some restaurants have taken action to make sure diners are not disturbed by boisterous children.
